Member of Parliament for Nsanje South West constituency, Uritta Ntiza has called on Moslem women in the country to unite and share gifts to each other during this period when the country is experiencing the Convid-19 pandemic.
Ntiza made the remarks in Nsanje district when she donated food items at Nsanje Islamic centre over the weekend on the side-lines of celebrations of Ed by Muslims in the district.
Speaking in an interview with GT the Law Maker said as a member of parliament for the district, she considered it necessary to celebrate with the Muslim families by donating assorted foodstuffs while urging Muslim women to unite and share gifts to each other more especially the country is experiencing the convid-19 outbreak.
Eid-Mubarak is celebrated on the day when the first sight of the moon is seen in the sky marking the end of the Holy month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, Chairperson for Nsanje District Muslim Association, Sheik Maulana Chipangu, has commended the gesture by the legislator saying the donation will alleviate them from the eminent hunger situation that has affected many people in the district.
The donated food items include Sugar, Flour, salt Rice just to mention but a few.
