Malawi’s State President Dr.Lazarus Chakwera has appointed four Ministers.
According to reports Chakwera has appointed his vice Dr Saulos Chilima as Minister Economic Planning and Development and Public Sector Reform while Malawi Congress Party Director of Youth Chimwendo Banda has been appointed as Minister of Homeland security, veteran lawyers Mordecai Msiska Sc as Minister of Justice and Constitution Affairs while Chikosa Silungwe have been appointed as Attorney General and Felix Mlusu as Finance Minister.
Chakwera has also appointed Zangazanga Chikhosi as Chief Secretary to the Government who will be deputised by Lawyer Janet Banda SC while Prince Kapondamgaga has been appointed as Chief of Staff for State Residences.
Speaking during a swearing in ceremony Chakwera urged the Ministers to serve Malawians first.
Chakwera warned that the sustenance of the ministers in their ministries will be based on their performance.
“Your stay within the cabinet will be assessed by the citizens that you will be serving” Chakwera said.
Meanwhile the public is still waiting to know the names of people who will occupy the remaining Ministerial positions.
Chakwera took oath of office of President on June 28,2020 after emerging victorious in the June 23 Presidential fresh elections.
