Minister of Trade and Industry Salim Bagus said by implementing various measures over pandemic, Nsanje has shown its total commitment toward the containment of disease.
According to Bagus, despite the measures that Nsanje District Council has put in place over COVID 19, there is need for the stakeholders to work in collaboration with Chiefs in the fight against the pandemic.
He further disclosed that government of Malawi is working tirelessly to protect its people in the country from the pandemic.
He however urged District Commissioner to engage with traditional leaders and witch doctors as the one way to fight against Corona virus pandemic.
In his speech, Nsanje district Health Officer DHO Gribat Chapweteka commends Ministerial Committee saying Salim Bagus is the third minister to visit Nsanje on COVID 19 issues.
Nsanje DHO has called on government to provide them with enough equipment such as Personal Protective Equipment, and COVID 19 Test kits.
“My team and other stakeholders are working tirelessly to contain the Pandemic,” Chapweteka said.
Currently, the country has registered 37 cases of COVID 19 with 3 deaths while 4 have recovery from the Pandemic but Nsanje district has not yet registered any case.
