Mwaza West Constituency Member of Parliament Joyce Chisulo has appealed to the general public and the cooperate world for a donation of about 600 buckets for distribution to people who lives along the border line.
Speaking when she donated 150 buckets to villagers, Chitsulo urged people in the area to be vibrant in manning all unchartered routes which are usually used by foreigners to get into the country. Mwanza Central boarders Malawi and Mozambique.
“As an MP, I thought it wise thatI should complement government efforts in the fight against the covid-19 by donating 150 buckets to the elderly so that they can be using them when washing hands,” Chitsolo said.
Chitsitsulo went on saying, “we have also trained them on how they can avoid contacting the virus,” adding “we have further trained them how they can mix chlorine so that they can be using it on dairy basis.”
She also applauded the health personnel in the constituency and the district for their role in the exercise.
“We commend the readiness of the health personnel in the district,” she said adding that the personnel will help monitoring the situation.
In her conclusion she urged people in her area to be cautious when interacting with people from the neighbouring Mozambique because a bigger of her constituency share the boundary with Mozambique.
