The Lilongwe City Council (LCC) has announced new measures to decongest Lilongwe city markets.
In a statement signed by LCC Chief Executive Officer John Chome the council says the new measures are aimed at preventing the spread of Corona virus in the city markets.
The council is working to decongesting city markets starting with the central market starting with the dry fish section and Min bus deport.
“All dry fish vendor’s will be relocated inside the Community Central Ground effective Thursday 9 April while all Salima route minibuses will be relocated at the Community Center Ground parking area effective Friday 10 April 2020″reads part of the statement.
LCC has since urges all fish vendors ,minibus operators and buyers to adhere to the changes.
